2017-9-25 Visit From Elder Neil L. Anderson
Our mission and the Quezon City Mission were visited by Neil L.
Andersen, an Apostle of the Lord. He is such a humble and loving person, we
were packed in the chapel but he emanated the love of Christ. We got to participate
like last time in a discussion centered on Jesus Christ, and it was
eye-opening. My favorite part was his testimony that Christ lives. It's like
the Apostles of old that testified after Jesus offered his life and was
resurrected, the spirit was so strong in the room.
I
have found a new joy in missionary work that in other times I hadn't
focused on, and that is looking for the lost sheep. In our area it's very dense
city, and people are moving around a lot, transferring in and out, so it's hard
to keep track of where people live. We are searching for members that haven't
been able to be contacted for years, and we have had miracles teaching people
that haven't seen missionaries in almost a decade and who are completely
willing to continue again on the gospel path.
We are also training members on how to fellowship, tour chapels,
and be genuinely interested in listening to new faces at church. We held an
activity for the stake that had our bishops, the stake presidency, and our
mission president show up to, and it was a blast. We started off with some
games, then moved into some workshops, a practice-teaching activity, then
testimonies. It was a fact-paced event and we were short on time, but we plan
on running it monthly now. Remember, if someone walks into church or class or
wherever, and you don't recognize... Introduce yourself!! Help them feel at
home, wherever you are
We are continuing our english class and it's pretty fun to teach
english to Filipinos, the one of the best ways to learn is games and
activities. If people aren't laughing, they probably aren't learning!
I
love this work, and I hope I will be able to inspire enthusiasm in those I
serve to continue being obedient, for God will bless us, there is no doubt in
my mind when I promise that to others. Thanks for reading, I love you all!
