February 12, 2017 - New Ward and Family Baptism!

2017-2-12  - New Ward and Family Baptism!

Kamusta po kayo!

Well, I'm transferred! Doesn't take long to unpack, starting to feel like home again already. My new ward is amazing, my companion is great, life is good! I miss my old companion like crazy, and my new area and calling is setting me way way way outside my comfort zone, but if we aren't ever uncomfortable, things will always seem scary. It's super tough, exhausting even right now, but after a few months of this everything will seem much more manageable. That's pretty much the definition of everything though! We just keep getting better, but only if it's hard, if it gives you eyebags, and makes you wonder, "can I really do this?". That's the way the Lord works, He will "shape the back that the burden rests on"

my last night with some beloved members and my companion Elder D C

Sister L- is in my batch, we studied in the training center together! I came just in time for her birthday at a member's home. It was cool to have a little reunion, even if one missionary is in the same mission, you could almost go the whole 2 years without seeing them, because it's always just your companion, and then meetings on occasion.

my first weekend in the new area, and the ward had a baptism! A family has joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints here in my neck of the woods. They are awesome, and I can't wait to help reteach them, and make sure it's a smooth transition to becoming a member. There's a lot of culture things and so much to learn, it really is a tough transition to be honest. But this ward is awesome, they have great leadership. Our Bishop, a member who has been called to lead the congregation for a number of years and volunteer his time and efforts, spoke at the baptismal service. Looking onto the newly baptized family, he said that you are like grade 1 right now, and you have to keep learning, keep progressing. But, you're not alone, the members are here with you. It's all of our efforts to become more Christ-like, more perfect, every day. After his talk, he asked to the members that attended if they promise to support and love these new members, and they all shouted "yes!" Well, in Tagalog it's "opo!"

Thanks everyone for following, love you all!
